BENTO |
BGP Enabled Network Traffic Organizer - BENTO -
is the current flagship product. It consists of a BGP4
implementation, a high performance netflow collector, a
graphing application, and supporting web pages and
scripts. The main service provided by BENTO is real time
analysis and graphing of network traffic flow, based on
BGP attributes, and it provides network engineers and
operators with instant information about which autonomous
systems (and groups of systems) traffic is exchanged with.
Please see the BENTO FAQ
or one of the
presentations
for more information and product rationale.
BENTO is a niche product and the preferred delivery
method is pre-installed on our purpose-built server,
including full technical support and software updates
supplied on an annual basis.
This is a cost-effective and trouble-free solution that
requires little else than router-side configuration in
the client's network, and
there are no initial or purchase or installation charges for
this option, except for the server itself.
BENTO can also be supplied on a one-off purchase basis,
with support and updates available at cost.
A special pricing scheme applies to non-network customers,
such as Internet Exchanges wishing to offer BENTO as an
added service for their customer's exchange-based traffic.

BENTO BOX |
BENTO has high CPU requirements in large networks,
but lends itself very well to a dual or multiple CPU server.
The BENTO BOX is a 19" rackmount server based on one or more
AMD Athlon MP or Opteron processors (depending
on requirements), delivering optimum performance
at reasonable cost. It is optionally available with
hot swap hard drives for ultimate uptime. Price depends
on exact configuration and market prices, but tentatively
starts at EUR 3000 with two 2G processors, 512M ECC RAM,
120G RAID 1 disk space, and one 100baseTX ethernet interface.

BGP4 |
The BGP4 implementation at the heart of BENTO is, just like
the other parts of BENTO, developed entirely in-house. The
BGP4 implementation is available as a source code licence
for vendors wishing to jump-start their entry into the serious
network equipment market. It is an unsually stable and seasoned
implementation, having seen several years of in-depth,
rigorous testing before becoming the heart of BENTO.
